It’s Fall ya’ll! I love Fall more than any other season! September starts with my and my husband’s anniversary and then my Birthday and from there it’s full blown holiday season and I love it. I love all the cozy vibes, sweater weather, leaves falling, early sunsets, and pumpkin everything! Most pumpkin inspired recipes I come across are packed with sugar. That’s not a big deal once in awhile but I like to keep all things pumpkin going all day/everyday in the Fall so I’d rather have choices I can lean on for nourished nutrition and solid energy!
I came up with this Pumpkin smoothie a few years ago and each year I’ve found new ways to make it healthier and more importantly more pumpkin-yyyyy 😉 The best part is you don’t need to sign up for any shake companies or memberships; you can get all the ingredients you need at your local grocery store or Amazon.
The reason I am utterly obsessed with this shake is because it’s packed with mega nutrients! The veggies (shhh don’t tell anyone) and fruit loads our body with vitamins and minerals to help us feel energized and nourished. The almond butter provides healthy fats to help keep us full and fuel us. The protein is vegan, clean, and filling without causing any bloating like most proteins do. The Cacao nibs are delicious and so fun to crunch on but they also provide fiber.
Now that you know the benefits, here are the ingredients to whip up this new Fall fav:
2 scoops Vanilla Protein Powder
1/2 Frozen Banana
2 Frozen Cauliflower Florets
1/2 can Organic Pumpkin Puree
1 Tablespoon Almond Butter
1 cup Milkadamia Unsweetened Vanilla Macadamia Milk
2 teaspoons Pumpkin Pie Spice
1 Tablespoon Cacao Nibs on top
Here are some of my favorite brands for the ingredients listed.
Because the order of ingredients matter for shakes to blend well…here are my go to tips!
Freeze the pumpkin (if you want). When I’m super organized I toss half a peeled banana, 2 cauliflower florets, and a 1/2 can of pumpkin puree into ziplocks and stash them in the freezer so I can easily grab them later.
Pour the liquid into your blender first, followed by the protein powder, the almond butter, the frozen fruits and veggies, and then the pumpkin pie spice.
Blend until all is incorporated and made into your desired consistency.
Pour and top with Cacao nibs…this is my favorite part!
I hope you enjoy the fall vibes and nourishing benefits of this shake as much as I do!
